CC and BOB." Breed Judge – Robert H. Gregory.

Richmond Dog Show Society – September 2011

Open Dog: "1 Clarke & Wheatley’s Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers, Lovely overall representative of the breed, presented in style & has great quality. Shown well, in full coat, lovely expression, very well defined head. When gone over everything was so well put together, moved well, not disappointed with my end decision. CC, BOB and Group 1." Breed Judge – Alan McCord.

"Pastoral Group. I thank the Judges for sending through the top class Best of Breeds to make this one of the best Pastoral Groups that I have been given the privilege of judging. I thought the quality was excellent and many more of the exhibits could have made the first cut with the choice being that close. I shortlisted ten - the Australian Shepherd Dog, Bearded Collie, Belgian Shepherd Dog (Groenendael), Border Collie, Old English Sheepdog, Hungarian Puli, Samoyed, Shetland Sheepdog, Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) & Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)....... my Group Winners today were led by an outstanding boy, so on form.

Group 1: the Border Collie; Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust); Sh CM. The stylish, sound and most typical Border Collie, with the quality in the head, eye and ear set, he has balance through his frame, he has an active, alert attitude, is built with an athletic body, deep chest and spring of rib. I liked his dense coat cover and he moved on muscled rear quarters, with the right action to just shade top place in the end today from the Shetland Sheepdog." Group Judge – Jeff Luscott.

Paignton & District Fanciers Association  – August 2011

Open Dog: 1. Clarke & Wheatley’s Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers, balanced head, good underjaw, moderate muzzle, dark oval eyes, lovely alert expression, strong neck with good reach, deep chest, lovely bone, well muscled, neat well padded feet, well balanced with good angulation & stifle, level topline on the move & standing. Smooth & easy movement with reach & drive, excellent side gait, lovely outline & proportions, excellent presentation. CC, BOB and Group 4." Breed Judge – Karen Angier.

"Pastoral Group....... I thank all the breed judges for sending forward a very good typy selection. This was a very nice pleasing day. For the first cut I selected the Australian Shepherd Dog, Bearded Collie, Border Collie, German Shepherd Dog, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Pyrenean Sheepdog, Samoyed, Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)& Welsh Corgi (Pembroke). Then following a second run off ....

Group 4: I selected the Border Collie Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust) very sound type, a male with a good head, correct strength of eye, coat condition was perfect, movement very good. I found all 4 placed examples to be to a very high standard - it was my pleasure to judge them." Group Judge – Peter Bailey.

East of England Agricultural Society  - July 2011

An excellent entry. My first time awarding CCs in the breed. Temperaments were good & presentation was excellent. Type was somewhat varied & some rear movement left a bit to be desired. Overall though some very nice exhibits here & I was pleased to see my BOB go on to take BIS.

Open Dog: "Super class with quality in depth ........ 1st Clarke & Wheatley's Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust.). Dog with the "Wow" factor, superbly balanced, very typy, everything in the right place, just about fits my interpretation of the Standard to the letter. CC, BOB, G1 & BIS, need I say more?" Breed Judge – Mick Taylor.

"Pastoral Group. It was an honour and a pleasure to be asked to judge the Group; as this is one of my favourite Championship shows. The organisation and hospitality was first class with a lovely atmosphere around the big ring, I had 27 exhibits to choose from who were of a high standard. I shortlisted 9 exhibits - the Australian Cattle Dog, Border Collie, German Shepherd Dog, Norwegian Buhund, Old English Sheepdog, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Shetland Sheepdog & Welsh Corgi (Pembroke).

Group 1 was Sh Ch/Aus Ch Danari De Beers, Border Collie I have recently judged, in a very good open dog class, as I said then he is worthy of winning. He was on top form & presented in excellent condition. He moved with drive & purpose, well done." Group Judge – Kevin Young.

"Best in Show. My thanks to the officials of the Society for extending me the invitation to award BIS and for their most hospitable welcome on the day. As I watched the seven finalists enter the ring and make their initial circuit the sheer quality and excellence of these dogs became very apparent. Each exhibit was, in my opinion, a most worthy representative of their respective group and breed. After going over and moving each individual dog I appreciated that all the group judges had done their jobs really well and that this was certainly the best line-up I have been given for any of the BIS appointments I have undertaken at this level to date. This was clear proof to me that we have exhibitors who understand how to produce and present great dogs & that we have judges with the knowledge, eye & experience to recognise and reward dogs that stand out as being healthy and fit for purpose while fulfilling the requirements of their specific Standard.

The Group judges will be, I’m sure, very able to describe the virtues of the exhibits they sent forward so I will confine my further remarks to the BIS & RBIS winners. I was delighted to be able to make the male Border Collie, Sh Ch/Aus Ch Danari De Beers - Best in Show and the 20 months female PBGV Ch Soletrader Peek A Boo RBIS. The Border Collie is so well proportioned and balanced with a smooth outline and is neither coarse nor weedy. On the move he has a very free, smooth and tireless gait with minimum lift and certainly conveys an impression of stealth and speed. The runner-up conveyed an immediately positive impression with her happy, extrovert temperament, free driving action and her well balanced compact appearance. Both these dogs have a very visible “Wow” factor and they really sparkled in the strongest of competition and these attributes just gave them the slight advantage they needed to secure victory at the moment of decision." Best in Show Judge - Dr. Ron W. James.

Southern Counties Canine Association  – June 2011

Open Dog: "What a stunning class, thank you for giving me the pleasure to judge them. 1 Clarke & Wheatley’s Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers, wow what a dog, gave me tingles to look at him, most beautiful head & expression, lovely well muscled neck, truly super front, deep chest, well sprung ribs, lovely bone & well padded feet, moving never put a foot wrong. CC, BOB and Group 1." Breed Judge – Karina Le Mare.

"Pastoral Group. I thought it was a very strong group, considering there were only nine sets of CC’s for the 23 Breeds scheduled. I pulled out 8 exhibits - the Border Collie, Briard, Old English Sheepdog, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Samoyed, Swedish Vallhund & Welsh Corgi (Cardigan). I moved them all again and my final choices were as follows :-

Group 1: the Border Collie Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust) presented in lovely coat & condition and a pleasure to go over. Moved soundly round the ring with a typical Border Collie head carriage. A super dog." Group Judge – Vic Salt.

National Dog Show (Birmingham) - May 2011

Open Dog: "1st Clarke & Wheatley's Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust.). Mature male with broad skull & moderately short muzzle, dark eyes & good ear carriage gives a soft but alert expression, neck is strong & smoothly runs into well angulated shoulders, topline is level both standing & on the move & all this, together with his balanced rear angulation, gives a tireless smooth ground covering gait. Not quite in full coat but still a well deserved CC & BOB;" Breed Judge – Irene Kiff.

Working and Pastoral Breeds Association of Wales - April 2011

Open Dog: "Good class of mixed types, but with some very good movement which won the day. 1st Clarke & Wheatley's Sh Ch/Aust Ch Danari De Beers (Imp Aust.). Multi winning Ch. full of quality, very well presented & conditioned, presents eye catching picture, lovely head with kindest of expressions, balanced & has very good side gait, moving with ease round the ring. CC." Breed Judge – Pam Etheredge.
